My First Post...
Meet the loves of my life: my family. I was blessed to FINALLY meet the man of my dreams after kissing A LOT of frogs. After traveling the world and trying to find a place where I belonged, I realized, like Dorothy, that perhaps my dreams lay somewhere nearer my own backyard. I lived in London, Hungary, and China for a while, studying and later teaching English. By my second year in Hungary, I was getting a bit homesick. One of my old friends began writing me, telling me that he had a different calling than the business world where he once lived. He was now studying to be an English teacher. I congratulated him and silently thought "well, he'll never make a lot of money." By the end of my teaching stint in Europe, I was ready to go home to little ole North Carolina. My dad met me at the airport with a plane ticket to Michigan, sent by said English teacher. Though I didn't fly out that day, I found myself boarding another plane a few weeks later and flying into another adventure.
Neal, my penniless husband--yes he did become an English teacher, and I never dated; we just corresponded for two years and decided to tie the knot in 1994. We now live in North Carolina--about 30 miles from my own backyard. We have two teenage girls, Caroline and Sophie. We visit Michigan as often as we can. (My husband has a big family and a TWIN!)
The last year has brought a great deal of change to our lives: I started homeschooling my 13 and 15 year olds. Whew! This has been a journey. I find myself TRYING to live out the Proverbs 31 life, but TYRING is sometimes all that happens.
I am making a "house" here to store all my goodies that I have stolen borrowed from other folks on the internet and the homeschooling community.
And here is a BIG thank you to all those brave, God-fearing women who have come before me in an effort to be a Woman Who Fears the Lord.
Blessings!
